Buckeley's Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 2002 South Australia $10
What the Wine Critics Thought: Wine Advocate 88 Points

The 2002 Cabernet/Shiraz (52% of the former and 48% of the latter) was aged in French oak for 10 months. Displaying a dense ruby/purple color, deep concentrated flavors (black fruits, loamy soil, and a hint of toast), as well as good weight and richness, it is a pure, surprisingly deep 2002 with a hint of chocolate in the finish. It will drink well for 3-4 years, possibly longer. It is difficult to find a wine of this quality for $10.
What we thought: Blackberies and hits of cedar and allspice on the nose are followed by a smooth, medium-bodied blackberry palate with a light underlying streak of acidity and soft tannins that show up on the finish. A good $10 food friendly red.
