Here is a well-priced "drinker" that will work with or without dinner....
Finca Sophenia Cabernet Sauvignon 2003
Tupungato, Argentina $17
We Bought a Bunch $14.99
What the Wine Critics Thought: Wine Enthusiast 90 points
If you like a dark, saturated wine with a ton of ripeness and richness, then this is it. The color is opaque, the bouquet full of rubber, blackberry and chocolate. Its intense stuff, with black cherry and cassis flavors preceding a finish dense with bitter notes, licorice and vanilla. Solid to the core. Editor's Choice. M.S.
What We Thought: A big Cabernet with an inky dark color, a classic Cabernet nose of cedar and cassis and a concentrated, full-bodied palate that is filled with ripe blackberry fruit with good tannic structure and just enough acidity to keep it interesting with food. Good bottle.
