This is a great bottle of Cabernet ... one of the best I have had out of South Africa in a long time! Not only is this good now, I think it will continue to develop in the cellar for at least five years!
Glen Carlou Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 Paarl, South Africa $17

What the Wine Critics Thought: Wine Enthusiast 90 Points
The nose starts with a delicate aroma of minerals, black currant and spice, and on the palate, layers of anise, cracked pepper and clove add a soulful touch. Sturdy tannins and a vibrant overall fruit profile give the wine a lift, but the package is balanced and smooth. Cellar Selection. —S.K.
What We Thought: With a big cedar cigar box nose, this Cab seems more like Napa than South Africa, and the ultra-ripe, full-bodied blackberry palate does not disappoint. This is first-rate Cabernet by anyone's standards with enough tannic structure that I think five years of improvement in the cellar is a good expectation.
