Great Cabernet from one of Napa's finest appellations....
Hess Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 Mt. Veeder
Napa, California $49
What the Wine Critics Thought: Wine Enthusiast 92 Points
Immediately drinkable for the soft purity of the tannins and complex cassis, chocolate and oak flavors, it has the sturdy structure to develop for some years, but it is best now for its elegant purity. Hess is on a real Cabernet roll, and is one of Napa’s overlooked stars.
What We Thought: Notes of blackberry, cedar and eucalyptus on the nose lead to a super-smooth, full-bodied palate of rich, black raspberry and blackberry flavors along with some very supple tannins that make this a short tern cellar candidate.
