Honig gets a well deserved, if long overdue, 90 point score from James Laube... and we liked it too!
Honig Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 Napa Valley, California $39
What The Wine Critics Thought: Wine Spectator 90 Points
Dill-laced oak and dried currant and black cherry form a rich, tight, complex core of flavors that give this wine a tight focus and a long, persistent finish. Drink now through 2013. —J.L.
What We Thought: Light notes of licorice accent a classic Napa nose of cedar and cassis. The velvety palate is thick, full bodied and filled with brambly blackberry fruit supported by some firm tannins that contribute to a lightly drying finish, but promise plenty of improvement in the cellar.
