Novelty Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2001 Columbia Valley, Washington $20
We Bought a Bunch $16.99
What the Wine Critics Thought: Wine Spectator 90 Points
This Cabernet is crisp and bright, with surprising density to the pure blackberry and currant flavors, developing a halo of spice and mocha from oak on the long lively finish. Best from 2005 through 2010.
What We Thought: This wine has an exceptionally deep, clear garnet color and a nose of cedar and cassis with a hint of blackberry. The medium-bodied palate is soft with big blackberry fruit and subtle but drying tannins that imply that, while the wine is very approachable now, it should show improvement in the cellar.
